 WATCHES AND WARNINGS -------------------- There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.
 DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 400 PM CDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Twenty-Two-E was located near latitude 17.4 North, longitude 104.1 West. The depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 7 mph (11 km/h), and this motion is expected to continue today.  A turn toward the west to west-southwest at a slower forward speed is forecast to begin later tonight and continue into Tuesday. On the forecast track, the depression is expected to slowly move away from Mexico over the next few days.
Maximum sustained winds remain near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.  A ship located just west of the center of the depression recently reported a sustained wind of 35 mph (55 km/h).  Gradual strengthening is forecast during the next few days, and the depression is expected to become a tropical storm later tonight or early Monday.
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
 HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- RAINFALL:  The depression is expected to produce total rain accumulations of 3 to 5 inches with isolated maximum amounts of 8 inches along the coastal sections of the Mexican states of Michoacan, Colima and Jalisco.  These rains may produce life-threatening flash floods.
