 WATCHES AND WARNINGS -------------------- There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.
 DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 300 AM MDT (0900 UTC), the center of Hurricane Sergio was located near latitude 10.7 North, longitude 113.2 West. Sergio is moving toward the west near 14 mph (22 km/h), and this general motion is forecast to continue today.  A turn toward the west-northwest is expected by tonight and a northwestward motion is forecast on Wednesday.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 85 mph (140 km/h) with higher gusts.  Additional strengthening is expected during the next couple of days, and Sergio is forecast to be near major hurricane strength by Wednesday or Wednesday night.
Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 125 miles (205 km).
The estimated minimum central pressure is 986 mb (29.12 inches).
