DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1000 AM CHST...0000 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm 30W was located near Latitude 12.4 degrees North and Longitude 144.7 degrees East...moving northwest at 26 mph. It is expected to make a slight turn toward the west-northwest with a decrease in forward speed this afternoon through Sunday.
Maximum sustained winds remain at 40 mph. Tropical Storm 30W is forecast to intensify over the next few days.
Tropical storm force winds extend up to 50 miles northeast of the center, and up to 100 miles to the southwest.
NEXT ADVISORY ------------- The next scheduled advisory will be issued by the National Weather Service at 200 PM ChST followed by an intermediate advisory at 500 PM ChST.
