DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 400 AM CHST...1800 UTC...the center of Tropical Depression 30W was located near Latitude 11.2 degrees North and Longitude 146.6 degrees East. 30W is moving northwest at 21 mph. It is expected to make a slight turn toward the west-northwest with a slight decrease in forward speed through Sunday.
Maximum sustained winds remain 35 mph. 30W will likely become a tropical storm Saturday afternoon or Saturday night, and is forecast to continue to intensify through Wednesday.
NEXT ADVISORY ------------- The next scheduled advisory will be issued by the National Weather Service at 800 AM Saturday morning followed by an intermediate advisory at 1100 AM.
