DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 700 PM CHST...0900 UTC...the center of Tropical Depression 30W was located near Latitude 9.0 degrees North and Longitude 148.8 degrees East. 30W is moving northwest at 23 mph. It is expected to make a slight turn toward the west-northwest with a decrease in forward speed over the next 24 hours.
Maximum sustained winds remain at 30 mph. TD 30W is forecast to intensify through Saturday possibly becoming a tropical storm early Saturday morning.
NEXT ADVISORY ------------- An intermediate advisory will be issued by the National Weather Service at 1100 PM ChST followed by the next scheduled advisory at 200 AM ChST early Saturday morning.
