Discussion and outlook ---------------------- At 400 PM CHST...0600 UTC...the center of Tropical Depression 30W was located near Latitude 8.5 degrees North and Longitude 149.5 degrees East. Tropical Depression 30W is moving northwest at 18 mph. This is very close to the island of Ulul in Chuuk State.  TD 30W is expected to continue in this direction with a slight decrease in forward speed through Saturday. This track would bring 30W south of Guam Saturday afternoon.
Maximum sustained winds are estimated 30 mph. Tropical Depression 30W is forecast to steadily intensify, likely becoming a tropical storm later tonight.
