Discussion and outlook ---------------------- At 100 PM CHST...0300 UTC...the center of Tropical Depression 30W was located near Latitude 7.7 degrees North and Longitude 150.2 degrees East. Tropical Depression 30W is moving west at 21 mph. It is expected to turn toward the northwest with a slight decrease in forward speed on Saturday. This track would bring 30W south of Guam on Saturday afternoon.
Maximum sustained winds are now 30 mph. Tropical Depression 30W is forecast to steadily intensify, likely becoming a tropical storm tonight.
NEXT ADVISORY ------------- There will be an intermediate advisory issued by the National Weather Service at 500 pm this afternoon, followed by the next scheduled advisory at 800 pm this evening.
