DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 100 AM CHST...1500 UTC...the eye of Typhoon Trami was located at Latitude 17.7 degrees North and Longitude 132.7 degrees East, moving west at 13 mph. Trami is expected to track west-northwest through tonight, then turn more to the northwest and slow down on Tuesday.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to 130 mph. Trami is forecast to intensify quickly today, and may become a super typhoon by this afternoon.
Typhoon force winds extend up to 50 miles from the center. Tropical storm force winds extend up to 185 miles northeast of the center, and up to 115 miles south of the center.
