DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 100 PM CHST...0300 UTC...the center of Tropical Depression 28W was located by radar near Latitude 14.8 degrees North and Longitude 144.5 degrees East. 28W is moving north-northwest at 10 mph. It is expected to make a slight turn toward the west-northwest with a decrease in forward speed over the next 24 hours.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to 35 mph. The tropical depression is forecast to intensify through tonight possibly becoming a tropical storm.
NEXT ADVISORY ------------- An intermediate advisory will be issued by the National Weather Service at 500 PM ChST followed by the next scheduled advisory at 800 PM ChST.
