DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 700 PM CHST...0900 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm Yagi was located near Latitude 22.9 degrees North and Longitude 131.7 degrees East. Yagi was moving west-southwest at 2 mph at 400 PM, but over the last few hours, the center has been executing a small counter- clockwise loop, and by 700 PM Yagi was back on a northwest track. A general northwest motion at about 15 mph is forecast through Sunday, taking Yagi over Okinawa Saturday evening.
Maximum sustained winds have decreased slightly to 40 mph. Little change in intensity is expected tonight, but slow intensification is expected to start Saturday and continue through Sunday.
Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 115 miles southeast of the center, but only out to 65 miles northwest of the center.
