DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 100 PM CHST...0300 UTC...the center of Super Typhoon Maria was located near Latitude 16.2 North and Longitude 141.9 East, moving to the north-northwest at 7 mph. This general motion is expected to continue through Saturday, followed by a  turn to the west-northwest and a increase in forward speed.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to 160 mph. Super Typhoon Maria is forecast to maintain its intensity for the next several days.
Typhoon force winds extend outward up to 45 miles from the center, and tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 185 miles north of the center and 125 miles south of the center.
