Discussion and outlook ---------------------- At 100 PM CHST...0300 UTC...the center of Tropical Depression Jelawat was located near Latitude 9.6 North and Longitude 134.7 East. Over the past 6 hours, the average motion of Tropical Depression Jelawat was to the west-northwest at 9 mph. However, in the past couple hours it has become stationary. It is expected to resume a west-northwest motion later today, eventually curving to the north tonight with a slight increase in forward speed.
Maximum sustained winds remain at 35 mph. Tropical Depression Jelawat is forecast to intensify through tonight possibly becoming a tropical storm.
