Discussion and outlook ---------------------- At 700 AM CHST...2100 UTC...the center of Tropical Depression Jelawat was located near Latitude 10.1 degrees North and Longitude 134.8 degrees East. Jelawat is moving toward the northwest at 13 mph. It is expected to make a gradual turn toward the north with a slight decrease in forward speed tonight and Wednesday.
Maximum sustained winds remain at 35 mph. Jelawat is forecast to maintain this intensity through tonight and possibly becoming a tropical storm on Wednesday over the Philippine Sea.
