Discussion and outlook ---------------------- At 400 PM CHST...0600 UTC...the center of Tropical Depression Jelawat was located near Latitude 8.1 North and Longitude 136.5 East. Jelawat is moving northwest at 14 mph. It is expected to turn to the north-northwest overnight and Tuesday while slowing down slightly.
Maximum sustained winds for Tropical Depression Jelawat remain at 35 mph although some gradual intensification is still expected over the next couple of days, possibly becoming a tropical storm late tonight or Tuesday.
Next advisory ------------- The next scheduled advisory will be issued by the National Weather Service at 800 PM this evening followed by an intermediate advisory at 1100 PM if the tropical storm warning is still in effect for Kayangel.
