Maximum sustained winds...45 mph Present movement...Northwest...310 degrees at 29 mph.
DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 700 PM ChST...0900 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm Saola was located near latitude 13.6 degrees North and longitude 141.1 degrees East...moving northwest at 29 mph. Tropical Storm Saola is expected to continue this motion through Friday before recurving to the north on Saturday. Trpical Storm Saola has passed Guam and is heading out into the open Philippine Sea.
Maximum sustained winds remain near 45 mph. Saola is forecast to intensify slowly the next few days, and may become a typhoon by Thursday. Tropical storm force winds extend out to 190 miles southwest of the center, and up to 175 miles northeast of the center.
