Maximum sustained winds...45 mph Present movement...Northwest...310 degrees at 17 mph.
DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 100 PM ChST...0300 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm 27W was located near latitude 12.6 degrees North and longitude 143.0 degrees East...moving northwest at 17 mph. Tropical Storm 27W is expected to continue this motion through Friday before recurving to the north on Saturday. Tropical Storm 27W has passed Guam and is heading out into the open Philippine Sea.
Maximum sustained winds are 45 mph. 27W is forecast to intensify slowly the next few days, and may become a typhoon by Thursday. Tropical storm force winds extend out to 185 miles southwest of the center, and up to 100 miles northeast of the center.
