DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 400 PM ChST...0600 UTC...the center of Tropical Depression 27W was located near latitude 9.1 degrees North and longitude 148.3 degrees East...moving south-southeast at 17 mph. Tropical Depression 27W is expected to eventually turn back to the northwest by Monday and continue toward northwest through Tuesday. This forecast track still anticipates Tropical Depression 27W passing south of Guam on Tuesday.
Maximum sustained winds remain at 35 mph. Tropical Depression 27W is not expected to significantly intensify tonight, but some gradual intensification is expected Monday or Tuesday.
There is still much uncertainty on how close 27W will pass to Guam so this system should still be closely watched for any changes in motion or intensity until it is to the west.
NEXT ADVISORY ------------- The next scheduled advisory will be issued by the National Weather Service at 800 PM this evening, followed by an intermediate advisory issued at 1100 PM this evening.
