Maximum sustained winds...150 mph Present movement...north-northeast...025 degrees at 18 mph.
DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 100 AM ChST...1500 UTC...the eye of Super Typhoon Lan was located near latitude 24.7 degrees North and longitude 132.9 degrees East. Lan is moving north-northeast at 18 mph. Lan is expected continue to the north-northeast before turning northeast near Japan on Monday. Super Typhoon Lan will gradually speed up in forward motion the next couple of days.
Maximum sustained winds remain at 150 mph. Super Typhoon Lan will resume a slow weakening trend this afternoon that will continue the next several days as it becomes extratropical.
Typhoon force winds extend outward up to 110 miles from the center. Tropical storm force winds extend up to 345 miles from the center.
