At 1100 AM AST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Jose was located near latitude 13.1 North, longitude 44.5 West. Jose is moving toward the west-northwest near 17 mph (28 km/h) and this general motion is expected to continue over the next couple of days.
Maximum sustained winds are near 65 mph (100 km/h) with higher gusts.  Continued gradual trengthening is forecast and Jose is expected to become a hurricane by later today.
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 km) from the center.
The estimated minimum central pressure is 998 mb (29.47 inches).
